Ghana is a friendly West African country located just north of the equator on the Gulf of Guinea, situated between Ivory Coast and Togo. It is a stable democracy since 1992. The population is approximately 24 million and the official language is English.


Ghana has a tropical climate with warm and comparatively dry weather along the southern coast, hot and humid in the southwest, and hot and dry in the north. The temperatures show little variation, ranging between 20 °C and 35 °C. There are two rainy seasons in the year, from March until June and from August until November.

The capital city, Accra is famous for it's night life. Most of the country is made up of wooded hill ranges, wide valleys and low-lying coastal plain with a dissected plateau in the south central area. About one third of the country is covered by forest and and woodland.
